Kyokushin Karate in Port Coquitlam presented a unique challenge during my recent shoot. I captured the action across two classes in a compact space with flat, uninspiring lighting and limited room to maneuver. To elevate the visuals, I set up a couple of studio strobes in the corners, using CTO gels to add warmth and depth. Despite the constraints of having no control over the lighting or talent, I embraced the challenge—and I'm really pleased with how these shots turned out. It’s always rewarding to make the best of a tough situation and create compelling images.
